Assessments

Our therapists use a combination of informal and formal standardised assessment tools to analyse and measure your child’s communication, language, speech, cognitive, motor skills and/or sensory processing abilities.

The results of your child’s assessment(s) are communicated in a written report and are discussed with you in a feedback session.

Assessments can be used to:

  • Highlight your child’s areas of strength and need;
  • Understand your child’s skills comparatively with same-aged peers;
  • Form part of a multi-disciplinary Autism Diagnosis;
  • Explore and/or form a diagnosis of Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Specific Learning Disability (e.g.: dyslexia) and giftedness.
  • Report progress (for example, in an NDIS Review Report); and
  • Determine eligibility for other funding pools and/or inclusion support (such as Program for Students with Disabilities).
